Tanzanian police on Wednesday said they have seized 237kg of cannabis and arrested two suspects in connection with the illicit drugs.

Wilbroad Mutafungwa, the Morogoro regional police commander, said the cannabis was seized by police on patrol on Nov. 5 at 5 a.m. at Bonus village.

“Police also arrested two people who were ferrying the cannabis in a vehicle that was also confiscated,’’ Mutafungwa told a news conference.

He said preliminary investigations indicated that the duo had been involved in the ferrying of the drugs for a long time. (Xinhua/NAN)
