Nollywood actress and content creator Olukemi Niyi-Aluko, popularly known as Diva Gold, has dismissed the widespread belief that her physical appearance is the primary reason for the opportunities she enjoys in the film industry.
The actress said that while her curvy figure may attract initial attention, it is her talent and professionalism that have kept her career on track.
Speaking in an interview with The PUNCH, Diva Gold addressed comments about her physique, particularly her b*obs, stressing that there is a clear distinction between gaining attention and building a successful, long-lasting career in the entertainment industry.
She stated: “I won’t deny that appearance can attract attention in the entertainment industry, but attention is different from longevity. My body, especially my b*obs, may get people to notice me, but my talent, professionalism and work ethic are what keep opportunities coming.”
The actress also expressed her desire to be recognised for her acting abilities rather than her physical features. “I want to be remembered for my performances, not just my physique,” she added.
Speaking on how she has maintained her relevance in the ever-evolving entertainment space, Diva Gold said she prioritises consistency and authenticity instead of following every social media trend. According to her, remaining true to her identity as an actor and storyteller has been more beneficial than seeking temporary online attention.
“I focus on consistency rather than chasing every trend. I create content that reflects who I am as an actor and storyteller. Trends may bring attention, but authenticity is what builds a lasting career,” she explained.
The actress further revealed that her performances are inspired more by real-life experiences than by viral online conversations. She also reflected on her personal growth, noting that confidence was something she developed over time through experience, self-awareness and commitment to her profession rather than external validation.
“Like many people, I had moments of self-doubt, but experience, self-awareness and believing in my craft helped me become more confident,” she said.
Diva Gold added that emotionally demanding roles remain the most fulfilling part of her career because they challenge her to connect deeply with genuine human experiences, allowing her to deliver more authentic performances.
