Take over governance now, Obasanjo tells youths
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has issued a clarion call to the nation’s youth, urging them to seize the mantle of leadership and positively disrupt the current political landscape.
According to Daily Post, Obasanjo emphasized the urgency for young Nigerians to step up and claim their rightful place in governance while addressing participants of the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship program organized by the Bridge Foundation on Thursday,
“You are the leaders of today, if you don’t take it now, you will never get it,” he asserted. “You have to be positively disruptive, don’t accept things the way they are. You need to make those who need to be made uncomfortable.”
Obasanjo’s impassioned plea comes amid growing concerns about the lack of youth representation in Nigerian politics.
He believes that the time is ripe for a generational shift, with young Nigerians taking charge and steering the country towards a brighter future.
