Nigerian comedian Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon Lagos, delivered a passionate appeal to President Bola Tinubu via his Instagram story, urging the Nigerian leader to take advantage of the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China.

The actor called on Tinubu to seize the moment by attracting luxury brand manufacturers affected by the escalating trade conflict between the two global powers. He suggested that Nigeria could become a strategic hub for relocating such factories, leveraging the country’s abundant workforce and low labour costs.

“President Tinubu, please take advantage of this US-China trade war. Redirect the factories of ‘victimized’ luxury brands to Nigeria. Aba, Kano, Uyo, PH will be ready. We have the cheapest labor in the world and we are a staggering 200plus million hardworking good people! Tinubu oooo. Take advantage!!!” he wrote.

Okon Lagos highlighted cities like Aba, Kano, Uyo, and Port Harcourt as ready and capable of hosting industrial operations. He emphasized that Nigeria’s massive population and competitive labour rates could serve as a significant incentive for multinational corporations seeking alternatives to China amid rising tariffs and restrictions.

His message, delivered in a tone of urgency, framed the global shift in manufacturing as a rare and timely opportunity for Nigeria to boost foreign investment, expand industrial capacity, and generate employment on a large scale.
