Former Big Brother Naija star, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has set two new Guinness World Records for completing the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and in 24 hours.
Guinness World Records confirmed her achievement on X on Wednesday, saying, “Congratulations to Symply Tacha who set two new Guinness World Records titles for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and 24 hours.”
Tacha achieved the record during her three-day Tacha Beauty Festival, held from October 10 to 12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos.
According to Guinness World Records, she completed 82 makeovers within eight hours and 144 makeovers within 24 hours.
Sharing her excitement on Instagram, the 29-year-old wrote that the success was the result of “grace, persistence, and the unwavering support of my team and fans who refused to let me quit.”
She added, “You smiled, talked, cried, and hyped me till the very last second. From the depth of my heart, thank you. We didn’t just work! We warred.”
Speaking about the challenge, Tacha said she faced multiple obstacles, including a heavy storm and power outages that almost disrupted the event.
“We faced a nine-hour storm that disrupted everything. The rain poured so heavily that our screens, monitors, and branding fell apart. The wind scattered the setup, and we had to rebuild the venue from scratch mid-event,” she said.
“On top of that, we experienced multiple power outages during the 24-hour attempt. The lights went off three or four times, but I refused to stop. My team turned on their phone flashlights, and I kept doing makeovers in the dark. It wasn’t just about makeup anymore; it was about proving that nothing could stop us.”
Speaking to Guinness World Records, she explained what inspired her: “The idea of daring to be different drove me. Makeup has always been my thing. From childhood, I was fascinated by colours and beauty. This record was born from that same spirit, resilience, and the courage to stand out. I wanted to show that Nigerian women can achieve anything they put their minds to.”
In another post, she thanked her supporters, writing, “To everyone who called, pulled up, reposted, believed before they saw it, thank you. The same God who did this for me knows the secret prayers in your heart, and He will answer you double.”
She also left a message for her fans: “Do not stop. If you don’t have haters, pray for haters because they’ll push you into purpose. While they hate, I chase destiny and win. My first name is Anita; it means gracious. And grace is loud on my life.”
