Nigeria will host the Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria Désirée, on an official visit from Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

This was made known in a statement released on Sunday by the Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

The princess will be in Nigeria to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between both countries. According to the ministry, her visit will focus on trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural exchange.

“Crown Princess Victoria will be received in audience by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar,” the statement said.

“She is also to meet with His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Governor of Lagos State, and commission the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos.”

On the first day of her visit, the Crown Princess will meet with Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, and later hold talks with Vice President Shettima and the Lagos State Governor.

One of the highlights of her visit will be the commissioning of the new Swedish Trade Office in Lagos. This move is expected to open more doors for business and trade partnerships between Nigeria and Sweden.

The ministry explained that the visit is part of efforts to deepen the strong ties between both countries.

“This visit underscores the strong and cordial bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden, as well as our shared commitment to fostering mutual cooperation,” Ebienfa said.

He added that Nigeria is looking forward to a positive outcome that will bring mutual benefits to both countries.
