Sweden’s national team have recalled iconic striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he retired from the team five years ago.

The Blue and Yellow’s head coach, Janne Andersson on Tuesday announced that the AC Milan striker will play in World Cup qualifiers at the end of March.

Ibrahimovic, 39, who retired from the Swedish squad after the 2016 European Championships, was included in the squad to face Georgia and Kosovo in the qualifiers as well as a friendly against Estonia.

Ibrahimovic is enjoying a return to Milan having netted 14 goals in 14 Serie A matches for AC Milan this season who recently conceded the top spot of the Serie A to rivals, Inter.

He scored 62 goals in 116 caps before retiring from the national squad in 2016 and will be hoping to add to his records when Sweden face Spain, Poland and Slovakia in their group in the first round of the Euro 2020 which has been postponed to June and July 2021 because of Covid-19.
