Championship side, Swansea City, have announced that head coach, Steve Cooper, has left his position at the club on Wednesday.
UK Guardian reports that the 41-year-old who led the club to successive Championship play-off finishes (including last season’s play-off final against Brentford) made clear his concerns over the direction of the club.
The former England Under-17 manager has attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Fulham before both clubs appointed Patrick Vieira and Marco Silva, respectively.
Cooper said: “I am very proud of what we have achieved over the past two seasons, especially getting to the play-off final, but it feels like a good time for all parties to make a change.
“It is a fantastic club, with incredible supporters and I am very grateful to them, to the players and all the staff for making me so welcome here. I wish the team every success for the future.”
Swansea have not named a temporary replacement yet for Cooper as they travel to Blackburn Rovers for their first match of the season in less than three weeks.
