Oke killed, two injured as suspected thugs disrupt PDP meeting in Delta

There was pandemonium at Emu-Unor community, Ndokwa-West Local Government Area of Delta State, as suspected political thugs invaded the venue of a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) killing one person and leaving two others with gun shot injuries.

Southern City News gathered that the meeting held on Saturday at the premises of one of the political leaders in the community, was in preparation for the forthcoming ward congress of the party.

The thugs, sources said, stormed the venue of the meeting and started shooting, causing pandemonium in the serene community.

They came in large numbers with the intention of disrupting the meeting and in the process, they opened fire but the bullets hit one of the thugs.

“The deceased, Onyeka, and the two other persons sustained bullet wounds”

He said the situation was brought under control by a team of police officers who were on patrol in the area, nothing that one of the thugs was arrested.

He added that the body of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP, Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the incident, said that the command was investigating the incident to bring the perpetrators to book.
