The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, without even having to play a match.

Their qualification was confirmed after Rwanda lost 1-0 to Libya in Kigali on Thursday evening, ensuring Nigeria a top-two finish in Group D.

With this result, Nigeria joins Gabon, South Africa, and Uganda, who also qualified for AFCON on Thursday as results in their groups went in their favor.

Libya’s narrow victory over Rwanda not only boosts their own campaign but opens the door for Nigeria’s neighbors, Benin, who can join the Super Eagles in Morocco if they win their upcoming match.

Elsewhere, other teams are still fighting for their place. Ghana’s hopes for qualification remain alive after Sudan was defeated 4-0 by Niger. Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion, must now secure a win against Angola in Luanda to keep their AFCON dreams alive.
