The Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin preparations for their upcoming double-header friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique as the players’ camp opens Tuesday, October 10.

All 25 invited players are expected to converge in Portimao, Portugal, for the friendlies. Head coach Jose Peseiro has already handed late invitations to three players, Tyrone Ebuehi, Umar Sadiq, and Chidozie Awaziem, as replacements for the injured trio of Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Jamilu Collins.

The friendlies are meant to prepare the Super Eagles’ for the 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

The Super Eagles will take on the Greens of Saudi Arabia in Portimao on Friday, October 13, before facing the Mambas of Mozambique three days later.

The Super Eagles will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record under Peseiro, who has won two and drawn two of his four matches in charge.

The matches against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique will also allow Peseiro to assess his players and experiment with different tactics ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
