Suicide bombers killed at least four people in Maiduguri, Borno State on Sunday, authorities in the state have announced.

Four other people believed to be the suicide bombers were also reported dead in what was described by the authorities as failed attempts by suicide bombers to wreck havoc in Maiduguri.

On Monday, rescue workers from the National and state emergency management agencies evacuated corpses of the suspects and victims to the mortuaries. Led by Chairman of Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA), Engr. Satomi Ahmed in conjunction with NEMA, eight bodies were evacuated.

“Among the corpses were that of two bombers at Muna Garage and two other suicide bombers killed at Kaleri temporary settlement, behind University of Maiduguri,” Satomi told PRNigeria.

“Apart from the four killed suicide bombers, four bodies of innocent victims who died during the explosion were also removed. The Nigerian troops had ensured that none of the suicide bombers escaped during the incidents as they closely monitored and protected the exit routes.”

Meanwhile, members of the public have been warned to be very careful about opening their doors to strangers as members of the Boko Harram insurgent have devised new ways of bombing people at their homes. One Abba Aji Kalli, member of the Community Joint Task Force (CJTF) said on his face book page that the bombers knocked on the door and when the occupants of the house came out to attend to them, they detonated the bomb, killing the house owners in the blast.
