The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has stressed the importance of combining prayer with effort, especially in achieving success.

While teaching on the topic of Unveiling the Prophetic Dimension of Scripture, during the first night of the annual Shiloh program held at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State on Tuesday evening, Oyedepo explained that biblical principles require action for success. He stated, “A student that does not read but prays to pass an exam will fail.”

The cleric highlighted that many believers struggle despite their faith because they lack knowledge or fail to apply essential spiritual principles such as faith, prayer, and obedience. “The words of the scriptures are for performance and will only work for those who believe,” he said.

He further encouraged believers to take responsibility for their part in activating God’s promises. “God is committed to His part of the deal if you are committed to your part. There is work to do if you must succeed,” Oyedepo said.

Using examples from the Bible, Oyedepo described scripture as prophetic, emphasizing that it contains promises that deliver results for those who follow its teachings. “Knowing the right thing from scriptures gives you a light that will change you supernaturally,” he said.

He also spoke about the glory available to believers in the redemptive era, referencing biblical figures. “A greater than Abraham is here. A greater than Joseph is here. A greater than Daniel is here because we are in Jesus. The glory of this redemptive hour is greater than the days of the Old Testament.”

The bishop stressed the need for faith to bring prophetic scriptures to life. “Prophetic scriptures are valid for all times, but they apply only to those who believe. Until your part is played, God won’t be committed,” he said.

The Shiloh program continues throughout the week, drawing thousands of participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
