Strike: FG calls emergency meeting with labour union

In an urgent bid to prevent the impending nationwide strike set for October 3, the Federal Government has called for an emergency meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria.

The meeting, as gathered by Vanguard, is slated to take place later today in the Conference Room of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President at Aso Villa.

Initially, the government had planned for the meeting to occur at 12 noon today, but it was postponed to the evening to allow Organised Labour to communicate with their leaders outside Abuja.

Sources reveal that NLC and TUC received the government’s invitation this morning via the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
