‘Stop doing rituals for ‘Yahoo Boys’, C & S church warns prophets

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide has urged Prophets within its fold to stop conducting rituals for youths involved in internet fraud, commonly known as “Yahoo Yahoo.”

This call was made during a pre-centenary revival in Osogbo on Monday as the church prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Senior Apostle Samuel Onigbinde, Chairman of the C&S Unification in Osun State, spoke about the importance of unification among the C&S Orimolade branches. He emphasized that the goal is to eliminate strange practices within the church. Onigbinde stated, “One of the essence of the Unification among the church is to fight strange practices among members. C&S is not for Yahoo boys, those prophets hiding under the white garment to perpetrate such evils must stop. A committee is already in place to ensure everyone conforms with the teachings of Prophet Moses Orimolade of blessed memory.”

He criticized so-called Prophets who disguise themselves as men of God while performing ritual prayers for individuals engaged in internet fraud. He reminded them that the teachings of Moses Orimolade focus on healing through divinity, fasting, and prayers, not conjuring spirits.

Pastor Olusegun Elijah, the convener of the pre-centenary revival, also expressed concerns about the rising number of churches in Nigeria due to high unemployment rates. He said, “The joblessness in Nigeria has made many people turn their ability to the Church. It is also unfortunate that Clerics have been romancing the political class and can no longer hold them accountable for their actions and inactions in government. The increase in crime rate despite the proliferation of religious centres is a result of the failure of religious leaders.”

Pastor Elijah further called on church leaders to stop aligning with politicians and instead hold them accountable for their actions while in public office. He added, “I called on our leaders to stop fraternising with politicians to hold them accountable while in public offices.”

The Cherubim and Seraphim Church’s message is clear: they want to cleanse their fold of practices that contradict their core teachings and urge religious leaders to uphold the integrity and teachings of their faith.
