STATE VISIT! Empty streets, silence welcome President Buhari to Makurdi
President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Makurdi, the capital of Benue State to condole with the Governor Samuel Ortom over the recent Fulani Herdsmen/Farmers clashes in which scores lost their lives.
Unlike his visits to Plateau and Taraba – two other states in which clashes killed several people – the President was welcomed by empty streets and deafening silence.
According to a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, a ” mammoth silence” welcomed the President to the food basket of the nation

What happened today that a usually boastful @NGRPresident did not post photos of the “mammoth crowd” that came to receive President Buhari in Benue as before? Okay let me help them post photos of the mammoth silence that welcomed the President to the food basket of the nation! pic.twitter.com/Fr2HVIMTyX

Bubu spoke for 3 minutes, was hardly audible and made almost no sense. At least, now you know better. No fist pump, no “Sai Baba” chanting and hollering. Makurdi is neither Kano nor Jos. Farewell from Makurdi Mr. President. pic.twitter.com/zjpuLbEgzG
