W/C Qualifiers: Five-star England thump Andorra
England continued their unbeaten World Cup Qualifying campaign with a five-star performance against Andorra on Saturday night.
The Three Lions secured a 5-0 victory against the Andorrans at the Estadi Nacional Stadium after an initial 4-0 win in the first leg.
Ben Chilwell opened his England account by firing Gareth Southgate’s men ahead in the 17th minute after an assist from Jadon Sancho.
Phil Foden set up Bukayo Saka for England’s second in the 40th minute as Koldo Álvarez’s men entered the break with a two-goal deficit.
Things got worse in the second half as Sancho teed up Tammy Abraham for England’s third in the 53rd minute before James Ward-Prowse made it 4-0 in the 79th minute.
Jack Grealish who came on for Sancho netted his first goal in England’s shirt in the 86th minute to complete the rout.
Kateryna Monzul, the first female official to referee an England match, had a busy night as she dished out five yellow cards.
England remain four points clear at the top of Group I after second-placed Albania won 1-0 against Hungary in Budapest.
Poland are a point further back in third after seeing off San Marino 5-0 and next face Albania in Tirana on Tuesday.
