Spain have defeated European champions, Italy, by 2-1 to enter the final of this year's Nations League.

Luis Enrique's side stunned Roberto Mancini's EURO 2020 champions at the San Siro stadium on Wednesday night.

The victory is revenge for July's Euro 2020 semi-final for La Roja who ended Italy's 37 games unbeaten run.

Manchester City's Ferran Torres netted a first-half brace (17', 45+2') to give the Spaniards the lead into the break leaving Italy depleted after Leonardo Bonucci was red-carded in the 42nd minute.

The Spaniards were almost home dry with the two-goal cushion until the 83rd minute when Lorenzo Pellegrini pulled one back for the Italians.

Pellegrini's goal from a Federico Chiesa assist did well to halve the deficit but it wasn't enough to muster a comeback for the Azzurri.

Spain will meet the winner of the second semifinal between Belgium and France holding at the Juventus Stadium on Thursday.
