Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has hinted that Cristiano Ronaldo would be dropped in some matches.
Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford with a BANG after 12 years as he scored twice in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United to send the Red Devils top of the Premier League table on goal difference.
The 36-year-old had earlier stated that he didn't return to the club to warm the bench as the fans expect to see him always.
However as United begin their Champions League campaign against RSC Young Boys on Tuesday, Solskjaer revealed that Ronaldo may not be able to play every game and the same applies to 19-year-old Mason Greenwood.
Solskjaer said: “Cristiano looks after himself so much so I know he will recover quickly.
“He has had a pre-season and, of course, it’s important that we get everyone up and running and to get him up and running and to give him 90 minutes.”
“It’s not impossible to leave him out. He is 36, Mason is 19, so it’s the same.
"I have to manage his minutes, and I have to manage a 36-year-old’s minutes as well.
“Of course there is a game on Tuesday. We will see what we do.”
