Hours after Manchester United terminated the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager of the club, Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted to his sack.

The Norwegian was fired on Sunday morning less than 24 hours after his team's lacklustre performance and scandalous defeat to Claudio Ranieri's Watford at Vicarage Road.

While describing Solskjaer as an ‘outstanding human being,’ the Portugal captain wished him success in his future coaching career.

Recall that the 36-year-old forward was Solskjaer’s final signing and was one of the few committed players that stuck by him during his remaining turbulent two months stay at the Theatre of Dreams.

The former Real Madrid striker shared the emotional tribute on his official Instagram account.

‘He’s been my striker when I first came to Old Trafford and he’s been my coach since I came back to Man United,’ said Ronaldo.

‘But most of all, Ole is an outstanding human being.

‘I wish him the best in whatever his life has reserved for him.

‘Good luck, my friend. You deserve it,’ he wrote.
