Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, scored a hattrick on Sunday as Genk defeated RFC Seraing 3-0 in the Belgium Pro League match.
The lanky forward who was last season's highest goal scorer and player of the year gave Genk the much needed win at the Cristal Arena following their 4-2 away loss to Antwerp last Wednesday.
Onuacho would have ended the game with four goals to his name had he not missed a penalty in the 34th minute.
The 27-year-old however made up for the miss with a 42nd-minute opener before doubling his tally four minutes later.
Genk were awarded another penalty four minutes into the second half and the Nigerian stepped up to slot in the third to complete his hattrick.
The win took Genk to third on 17 points in the league table, just one point behind leaders Club Brugge.
Genk would rely on Onuachu's form when they face Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday in their second Europa League group game.
