Greenwood hands United record-breaking victory against Wolves

Published

Mason Greenwood was the hero as Manchester United recorded a record-breaking 1-0 victory against Woleverampton Wanderes at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday.

United were far from convincing throughout the game but managed to nick a win to set a Premier League record of 28 games unbeaten away from home.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men who began the run form Februar 2020 till date have now surpassed the previous record of 27 away games unbeat which was held by Arsenal’s Invincibles generation.

Wolves would have done damage to United’s record from the start of the game with Adama Traore threatening the United defence but new signing Raphael Varane kept a clean sheet on his debut for the Red Devils.

United had Aaron Wan-Bissaka to thank in the first half for denying Francisco Trincao a goal-bound effort with a touchline interception as the visitors went into the break without a shot on target.

However, in the second half, David De Gea spared the blushes of United with a double save to deny Romain Saïss two clear chances in quick succession.

More to come…
