Fury to fight UFC champion Ngannou after Wilder/Joshua bout
Two-time world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has revealed his intentions to switch to Ultimate Fighting Championship for ‘stand-up bang out’ fight with UFC heavyweight champ, Francis Ngannou.
However, before the fight against the Cameroonian mixed martial artist can become a reality, the WBC and The Ring magazine titleholder, Fury, would have to wait till he’s done fighting Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua.
Dubbed the Gypsy King, Fury recently had his undisputed championship fight against Joshua set for August cancelled after the Court of Arbitration ordered Fury to fulfil his contractual obligations against the Bronze Bomber.
He would now face the American heavy puncher for a trilogy on July 24, after which, the 32-year-old will then fight Joshua before eyeing a ‘stand-up bang out’ fight with Ngannou.
UK Sun reports that Ngannou, 34, also dreams of making the switch to boxing to fight Fury in the future and the after training with the legendary Nick Diaz in the octagon, the Gypsy King is eager to make the fight happen.
He told TMZ Sports: “Nick looks good. Nick is training hard and he is making his comeback.
“He did tell me that Ngannou can’t do any wrestling anyway, so we are just looking for a stand-up bang out.
“Me and Ngannou in the small gloves, let’s make it happen.
“As soon as I am done with Wilder and Joshua, I will fight Ngannou in an octagon, in the four-ounce gloves and just punching.”
