World Champions France have lifted the 2021 UEFA Nations League with a 2-1 comeback win over Spain at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy on Sunday.

Antoine Griezmann who became the ninth French star to make 100 appearances for France lined up alongside Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema in a powerful front three for the world champions.

While Adrien Rabiot was replaced by Aurelien Tchouameni following a positive Covid-19 test.

Ferran Torres starts up front for Spain after recovering from a foot injury sustained in his side's 2-1 semi-final win over Italy.

Luis Enrique made two changes, selecting Eric Garcia in place of Pau Torres in defence while Rodri starts in midfield ahead of Koke.

Unlike the semifinals, the first half was awkwardly quiet as fans had to wait till the second half to see the game erupt.

Didier Deschamps' Les Blues who entered the final with a 3-2 comeback victory over Belgium in the semis fell behind in the 64th minute.

A mistake by Dayot Upamecano who came in for injured Raphael Varane allowed Spain to take the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal.

Karim Benzema who led the resurgence against The Red Devils in the semis began the comeback for France two minutes after Spain took the lead.

However, Kylian Mbappé who had not been impressive throughout the game made up for his poor performance with a classy finish in the 80th minute to give France the much-needed victory.

Spain's attempt to restore parity failed with timely saves from Hugo Lloris and Paul Pogba who was magnificent throughout the game.

Enrique's La Roja continue their quest for their first international trophy since their World Cup win in South Africa in 2010.

Deschamps on the other hand celebrates his second trophy with the French national team following their World Cup win four years ago.
