Former England internationals, Trevor Sinclair and Darren Bent have expressed their displeasure with Romelu Lukaku for dropping a Chelsea exit bombshell.
Lukaku was resigned by the club from Inter on a club-record fee in the region of £97.5 million back in August.
However, the Belgian hinted towards a return to Inter, admitting he’s unhappy at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel after just four months into his five-year deal in an interview on Thursdaya.
Lukaku who has scored seven goals in 18 appearances for the Blues this season has been deemed disrespectful over his comments by Bent and Sinclair.
Speaking to talkSPORT the ex-Tottenham star, Bent said, “Some of the quotes are just crazy.
“One of the quotes where he says he hopes to return to Inter Milan and not at the end of his career, while he’s at his peak still. That could be soon! He’s not getting any younger. It is a bombshell…
“But to be so public about it, that’s a hammer blow for Chelsea Football Club.”
Ex-Chelsea star, Sinclar also noted that he’s in “absolute shock…for him to come out with those comments, I think he should be apologizing to the Chelsea fans. That’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea fans.
“I think that’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea manager. I’d be astounded if he hadn’t had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel about this.
“…I think it’s disrespectful to his teammates and I think it’s disrespectful to the owner.”
Lukaku scored for Chelsea in their final game of the year 2021 when they suffered a setback against Brighton after a late goal from Danny Welbeck.
Tuchel’s side who are eight points behind league leaders Manchester City will begin the new year with a home clash against Liverpool on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
