Europa: Ndidi predicts tough tie as Leicester face Randers

Published

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has predicted a tough encounter between Leicester City and Randers FC in the knockout phase of the Europa Conference League.

Brendan Rodgers’ side narrowly crashed out of the Europa League by finishing third in Group C behind Spartak Moscow and Napoli.

A drop down to the Conference League earned them a tie against the Danish Superliga outfit whom the Nigerian described as a really good team.

Speaking during the pre-match conference ahead of their first leg tie at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, Ndidi however noted that Leicester are ready for their opponents.

He said, “I expect it to be a really tough game because every team playing is worthy of winning the competition.

“Seeing videos about the team, they are a really good side and I think we are ready for it.”

Despite the disappointment of the Europa League, Ndid believes that “This [ECL] is another great opportunity for us to be at our best, try to get as many wins as we can and to come out with something from the season.”

However, alongside Ndidi, The Foxes will rely on the attacking form of the likes of Patson Daka and Super Eagles duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman, in the absence of star striker, Jamie Vardy who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since late December.
