EUL: Victor Moses scores as Leicester hold Spartak Moscow

Published

Former Super Eagles attacker, Victor Moses, has scored his first goal of the season as Leicester City hold Spartak Moscow in their Europa League group game on Thursday.

About three other Nigerians were on display for both sides, including Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman.

Leicester dominated the majority of proceedings but Moses opened the scoring against the run of play in the second half. Amartey responded for the Foxes but the hosts were unable to find a late winner, meaning they have to settle for a 1-1 draw in their fourth Europa League game.

The Foxes dominated the majority of possession only for Moses to head in the opener against the run of play after 51 minutes of goallessness.

However, Leicester found their way back into the game through Ghanian star, Daniel Amartey after just seven minutes behind.

The hosts kept pushing for the winner and were handed a golden opportunity when Moses fouled Lookman in the 18-yard box but substitute, Jamie Vardy, had his spot-kick saved.

Kelechi Iheanacho also came close moments later but his attempt was denied by the woodwork as both sides ended the game 1-1.
