Eriksen scores as Brentford thrash Chelsea 4-1 at Stamford Bridge

Published

Danish midfielder, Christian Eriksen, was on target as Brentford came from behind to thrash Chelsea 4-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Danish star has now scored three goals in three matches after scoring twice (against Denmark and Serbia) for Denmark during the international break which ended on Tuesday.

After a goalless first half, Chelsea took the lead through defender Antonio Rüdiger’s long-range super strike three minutes into the second half as The Blues hit the ground running.

But things took a turn for the worse for Thomas Tuchel’s side after just two minutes as The Bees equalised.

Vitaly Janelt’s 50th-minute strike pulled Brentford back into the game before Eriksen made it 2-1 four minutes later after a great counter-attack from the visitors.

Janelt doubled his tally six minutes later when he left Mendy helpless with a lovely chip from a tight angle to make it 3-1.

Substitute, Yoane Wissa, rounded off the scoring in the 87th minute when he made it 4-1 for the visitors.

More to come…
