Arsenal secured a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Friday night to move ninth on the Premier League standings.

Ghanian, Thomas Partey, ended his 12-month goal drought with his first goal(23') for Arsenal after 40 appearances in all competitions since his move from La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid.

Skipper, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, doubled Arsenal's lead (45+6') with the rebound of his penalty that was initially saved by his former teammate, Emiliano Martínez.

Rising star, Emile Smith Rowe, put the game beyond Villa's reach by netting Arsenal's third goal, 11 minutes after the break.

The visitors got a lifeline through a lovely curler from Jacob Ramsey (82') but it wasn't enough to stir Dean Smith's side to a comeback.

Arsenal temporarily occupy the ninth spot on the Premier League table pending other matchweek nine games.
