JUST IN: Ziyech scores screamer as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0
Chelsea retruned to winning ways on Sunday night by defeating Tottenham 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
After a goalless first half at the Bridge, Thomas Tuchel’s side found the back of the net in the 47th minute.
Hakim Ziyech broke the deadlock with a world class strike as a helpless Hugo Lloris watch the ball float into the net.
Thiago Silva sealed all three points for The Blues when he netted the second goal in the 55th minute.
Chelsea remained third on the log while Spurs missed the chance to go fourth on the Premier League table.
Reacting after the match, Ziyech said, “We played well. Sometimes they had some counter-attacks but it wasn’t really dangerous at all.
“I think it [the goal] was 10/10.”
Tammate, Mason Mount added, “You could see straight from the beginning the will to win. It is always difficult when a team play with so many defenders.
“Overall the last couple of weeks we haven’t had the results we wanted, so teams start to creep up on you. It was a massive result for us.”
