JUST IN: Arsenal outclass Tottenham in north London derby
Arsenal’s resurgence after an abysmal start to the season continues with a 3-1 victory of north London rival, Tottenham.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners outclassed Nuno Espirito Santo’s visiting side at the Emirates to secure their third straight Premier League win.
The home fans were unusually lively against their rivals as they watched their side take a shocking three-goal lead into the break.
Emile Smith Rowe netted the opener 12 minutes into the game after an assist from Bukayo Saka.
Skipper, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took the fans down the memory lane with a Thiery Henry-like celebration after doubling the lead in the 27th minute.
Henry himself who was in the stands couldn’t be more pleased with his former side’s performance when Bukayo Saka made it 3-0 in the 34th minute.
Son Heung-min scored a 79th-minute consolation but it wasn’t enough for Nuno’s side to muster a comeback.
The victory sees Arsenal move to 10th position on the EPL table as they edge their rivals on goal difference.
Spurs move down to 11th on the log having lost their third consecutive league match.
