Controversial musician, Speed Darlington, has demanded a rematch against fellow artist Portable following his defeat in a much-hyped celebrity boxing match that ended in a technical knockout loss.

The showdown, which took place on Friday night, saw Portable dominate from the start. The first round featured an aggressive flurry of punches from Portable, while Darlington struggled to counter. In the second round, Darlington failed to maintain his footing and ultimately collapsed, prompting the referees to end the bout in Portable’s favour.

In an Instagram video shared after the match, Speed Darlington claimed that Portable had an unfair edge due to his rough upbringing and street-fighting experience.
“It’s so unfair,” he said.
“I have never been in a ring before because I did not come from poverty. I never needed to learn how to fight. We didn’t need to snatch food from people, so I didn’t need to learn how to fight that’s why it looks like I don’t know how to fight.”

He added that the experience has changed his perspective and expressed his determination to return stronger.
“But now, I’m a man and I feel like it’s important for a man to know how to throw a fist. So now, I’m going in and I need a rematch. You do not deserve that money.
Give me two months and 15 training sessions, and I’ll be ready. That prize money should be mine.”

Darlington also made headlines by declaring he might resort to “juju” (voodoo) to gain an upper hand in the anticipated rematch.

The rivalry between the two entertainers escalated following a dispute over a performance offer. Speed Darlington had invited Portable to perform at his show with a proposed fee of N500,000. Portable rejected the offer, ridiculing Darlington by calling him “poor” and stating his standard appearance fee was N20 million.

In response, Darlington accused Portable of insulting his mother, which further intensified their feud. Portable eventually challenged Darlington to a physical fight, confidently asserting he would defeat him as he did in a previous celebrity match against actor Charles Okocha.

With the tension between the two still simmering and Darlington’s call for a rematch gaining traction online, fans are already anticipating another explosive chapter in this ongoing celebrity rivalry.
