Special prayers will be held today for the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Mosque in Abuja and several Juma’at mosques across Nigeria.

This was announced by former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, in a Facebook post on Friday morning.

Ahmad wrote, “Today, a special national prayer will be held in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Mosque in Abuja, as well as in many Juma’at mosques across the country.

“We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts him, forgives his shortcomings and grants him eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus.”

The former president died on Sunday in London, United Kingdom, after a long illness that was not made public.

His body was buried on Wednesday in his hometown, Daura in Katsina State, with many dignitaries present to pay their last respects.
