Speaker of Gombe state house of assembly impeached
The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Ibrahim, has been impeached on Tuesday.
The impeachment followed a motion moved by Shuaibu Haruna, the lawmaker representing Kwami state constituency which accused him of “high-handedness.”
The lawmakers immediately swore in Abubakar Luggerewo representing Akko Central constituency as new Speaker.
The Majority Leader, Samuel Markus from Pero-Chongi, was removed and replaced with Yerima Gaule representing Kaltungo-East.
Saidu Mohammed representing Deba constituency was sworn-in as Deputy Chief Whip after the removal of Yahaya Kaka.
