Soludo: Ex-CBN Gov’s whereabouts unknown as gunmen abduct commissioner, kill three policemen

A former Central Bank Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo was on Wednesday evening attacked by gunmen,  leaving three of his police details dead.

The Punch reported that the assailants invaded Soludo home town in Isiofia in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

A media aide to the ex-CBN governor, who pleaded not to be identified, confirmed the incident.

He said, “I can’t confirm the whereabouts of Professor Soludo. There was stampede, I don’t know where Soludo is now.

 

“I only learnt that the state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne, was taken away but I have not heard about the whereabouts of Soludo.”

 

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, also confirmed the incident.

“The incident happened but as of now (8.15pm) I’m still gathering information about the incident,” he said.

 

Soludo, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, is a frontline aspirant in the November 6 governorship poll in the state.
