Solskjaer reacts to Man Utd’s comeback win against West Ham

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has reacted to his club’s comeback win against West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Reds fell behind in the first half after a sloppy start but pulled a stunning controversial goal from Paul Pogba led the charge as United tore the Hammers apart to win 3-1.

It would be United’s fifth consecutive away comeback of the season, despite falling behind and Solskjaer said that the West Ham win was not a coincidence.

“When we got the goal and got on the front foot, we looked like ourselves,” Solskjaer said. “We’ve done this too many times, coming back from 1-0 down, for it to be a coincidence.

“We have character and belief in this team, and the mentality is one of the biggest things I take from these away games.

“The players always believe in themselves and trust themselves, there is no shouting or screaming, we believe in our team-mates and ourselves.

“In the first half we had loads of the ball, but we couldn’t control it or create anything… Second half we tweaked… and the three goals were all exceptional quality.”

“That was the difference between us and them, they had chances in the first half, but they couldn’t score, and the quality we had in the second half was too high.”

The win temporarily sent United into the top four with 19 points with the like of Leicester, Southampton having a game at hand.

Ole’s side, however, have a daunting task against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday before heading to the Etihad for the Manchester Derby over the weekend.
