Social Media made me expect 1000 dead bodies from Lekki shooting, says Lagos deputy speaker
Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Wasiu Sanni, has shared his view concerning the Lekki shooting.
Speaking during house plenary, Sanni expressed worries about the posts he saw on social media on the shooting.
He said that they made him think that there was going to be 300 or up to 1000 dead bodies as a result of the shooting which was against EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
He, however, expressed relief that other social media users were able to question the veracity of the claims peddled on the different platforms.
He said this while the assembly of lawmakers was deliberating on the regulation of social media.
