Social media has done more havoc to youths than good, says Oyedepo
The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners Chapel, and Chancellor, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Bishop David Oyedepo, has stated that social media has done more havoc to the youths of this generation than good.
Oyedepo said this on Friday during the 2019/2020 convocation of the school while delivering a lecture titled, “Combating the challenge of education without integration.’’
He pointed out that social media had destroyed the destiny of many youths.
He explained that social media which was expected to add value to the youths, has proven otherwise saying it has already become a major minus.
The cleric insisted that it is time we devised a means to bringing an end to the free access to social media, particularly those that are not adding value.
He said, “We must devise a means to put a check on free access to social media, particularly those that are not adding value.
“It unconsciously robs people of their future by robbing them of their time — no time to think; no time to plan; no time to programme,”
“This generation may lose her heroes to social media disaster. Here is one creeping serpent that is eating up the destinies of many individuals.
