A police Sergeant identified as Sesugh Igbakura has been shot dead by gunmen in Benue state.
This was made known in a post shared on the Facebook page of one Msurshima Tondo a few hours ago.
Reports said the police officer was discharging his official duty when the gunmen attacked and shot him dead.
Tondo who sympathised with the family and colleagues of the deceased prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
The Facebook user wrote,
Tears can not bring you back, because tears can not stop coming out of my eyes since I head the sad news of your demised, sgt SESUGH IGBAKURA who was attacked while performing his lawful duty by men of the under wold.my heart felt to his wife,children, Benue state command and Nigeria police force, may the soul of our gallant office continually rest in perfect peace .Amen
