Hip-hop legend, Snoop Dogg, has stirred discussion following his candid remarks about LGBTQ+ representation in Disney’s animated film Lightyear.

The rapper shared his experience during an appearance on the It’s Giving podcast, hosted by Sarah Fontenot.

Snoop recounted a moment when he took his grandson to see the film, only to be surprised by a scene featuring two women raising a child together.

The moment sparked a question from the young boy that left the rapper momentarily speechless.

“Papa Snoop, how can she have a baby with another woman?” his grandson asked. “I didn’t come here for this; I just came to watch the movie,” Snoop admitted during the podcast.

The rapper went on to explain how unprepared he felt to answer such questions in a movie setting and shared his growing concerns about the type of content being presented to children.

“I’m worried about taking kids to the movies now, because they’re putting me in situations I don’t know how to explain,” he said.

Snoop’s remarks have reignited public debate around LGBTQ+ themes in children’s programming. While many have praised Disney for promoting inclusivity and reflecting diverse family structures, others—like the rapper—are questioning the timing and appropriateness of such content for younger audiences.

The It’s Giving podcast, known for exploring culture, relationships, and personal perspectives, offered Snoop a platform to voice his unease and highlight the challenges that modern media can pose for parents and guardians navigating sensitive conversations with children.
