Hip Hop artiste, Banji Oladapo, popularly known as Dbanj, lambasted record label owners in Nigeria, saying they know nothing about music.
Dโbanj, who was one of the panellists who discussed the topic, โChanging The Game: Artistes As Leadersโ at the 2018 Social Media Week Lagos, added that most Nigerian artistes needย a lot of capacity building.
The Eje Nla crooner said,
โMost of the new generation record labels are founded by Yahoo boys. You must understand first, why are you coming into music.
โNigerian artistes need a lot of capacity building. It is only in Nigeria that the owner of a record label doesnโt know anything about music.โ
Dโbanj further revealed that he got into the music business due to fear of poverty.
