Radio Presenter, Toke Makinwa has joined a host of Twitter users to share their ordeal of heartbreak as the world celebrates Singles Day.

Makinwa whose three-year marriage to Maje Ayida was dissolved by a Lagos Court in 2017 after he had impregnated his ex-girlfriend, opened up on her heartbreaks, including Ayida’s, in a series of tweets.

Speaking on the heartbreak from Ayida’s infidelity, she recalled that she was out of breath for almost 20 minutes.

She tweeted, “…When the internet broke the news that the ‘then’ love of my life was having a child with another woman outside? Na una tell me say my marriage don end. It’s funny now but I didn’t breathe for the first 20 minutes, if I did, I don’t remember how I did. Ok bye.”

In a previous post before that, she revealed how a heartbreak from an unidentified lover made her walk the freezing cold streets of London only to purchase airtime to convince him otherwise.

“Heartbreak that made me walk in the cold streets of London, below 0-degree weather without a jacket on looking for a card shop to load my phone and beg this guy not to leave me. It was cold but I was feeling hot, My head wan craze.”

Talking about the most difficult moments after a heartbreak Makinwa said, “mornings are the hardest when heartbroken, I sleep well at night, I have problems sleeping cos I want to wake up feeling it was a bad dream. The pain in the morning makes me see wennnnn.”

“Thank God we don’t look like all we’ve survived. Thank you Twitter for the laughs. Heartbreak is a bitch,” she added.

Makinwa who recently turned 36 this month went on to express gratitude for how the human heart recovers from bad experiences.

“Do you sometimes wonder how your heart still functions after all that it has been through? We don’t salute our hearts enough, it’s really the MVP, the bounce back from everything is Solid.”
