Nigeria women pregnancy news

I am pregnant! Those three words scare men a lot. Both married and single men dread the news of pregnancy when it is coming out of wedlock.

Pregnancy news has led to the end of many relationships, turning many ladies with resolve to keep the baby, to single mothers popularly known as baby mamas. In some cases, the news is received with gladness by the men involved.

A South African lady took to Twitter recently to share her pregnancy experience and how her man reacted to the news.

The lady identified as Karabo Maisela said the father of her child and his family denied responsibility after she turned down his request to abort the pregnancy.

So yeah his family called my family and told them I’m a slut so they can’t claim the baby, he went awol for a while then bam, back again,” she wrote.

Maisela shared screenshots of her WhatsApp conversation with the man who she said went awol for over six months while she was pregnant and returned a few weeks to her delivery time to check up on her and her pregnancy.

“Anyway, I couldn’t tell if he really did want to participate or he was just doing me a favor by pretending, but till this day, almost a year later I’m still waiting for the call lol. So that’s how I concluded he’s dead.”

She said her experience made her subscribe to the school of thought that ‘men are trash’.

She tweeted:

“We tweet here religiously that men are Trash and some people still don’t get why, here’s one subsection on the feminist agenda as to why we call them the trash they are, because they participate willingly in the act of baby making but get to run away from the responsibility cos patriarchy excuses them by virtue of not having a womb.

“As long as they aren’t carrying and breastfeeding, then they aren’t needed in the equation. They slut shame, embarrass us, and leave us with heaps of trauma some of us won’t have the time to deal with. Today I have time.

After narrating her story, she also asked other single mothers on Twitter to share their experiences.

“I just want hear other women’s stories and hear about the unspoken trauma we carry with us that isn’t important enough to speak about because we have a baby to focus on and “men will be men”.

Her call for stories has evoked torrential reactions from single moms most of whom preferred to share their stories anonymously.
