Nigerian singer and songwriter Joeboy has suffered a significant financial loss of ₦3 million following Arsenal’s unexpected 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
The match, played on Tuesday, April 8, ended in a surprising defeat for Real Madrid, shocking many fans of the Spanish club, while Nigerian singer Joeboy was spotted live at the Emirates stadium, sipping on red wine, which he humorously referred to as “Arsenal tears.”
Prior to the match, Joeboy publicly expressed his support for Real Madrid and placed a ₦3 million bet on the team to win.
Had Real Madrid emerged victorious, Joeboy stood to win over ₦10 million.
The singer shared a post on his X account (formerly Twitter), displaying his bet slip along with the caption, “Cashing out on Arsenal tears tonight!” In addition, Joeboy taunted his Arsenal-supporting colleagues, Odumodu Blvck and Wizard Chan, promising to give them ₦2 million each if he won the bet.
“Once this ticket enter, I’ll send 2m each to @WizardChan and @Odumodublvck_ to clean their tears,” Joeboy wrote, boasting of his anticipated win.
However, following Arsenal’s dominant performance and the loss for Real Madrid, Joeboy took to social media to share a humorous meme reflecting his mood after the defeat.
However, Odumodublvck has poked fun at fellow Joeboy after the singer reportedly lost a ₦3 million on the bet.
Reacting to the outcome, Odumodublvck took to X with a playful jab at Joeboy’s misfortune, writing:
