Singer CKay becomes first African artiste to debut on Billboard Independent Album Charts
Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Chukwuka Ekweani, aka CKay, has become the first African artiste to make a debut on the Billboard Independent Album Charts.
This is courtesy of his EP; CKay The First debuting at no. 24 on the Billboard Independent Album Charts.
The Billboard Independent Album Charts is a ranking of the highest selling independent albums in the United States. The chart focuses on artistes who are not signed to any major label, like CKay.
The rankings are compiled weekly and CKay, the First EP, has debuted on the rankings for the week ending October 9th.
CKay the First EP was released back in 2019 and just recently, the album debuted at no. 4 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.
