Singer Celine Dion celebrates 53rd birthday

Canadian singer, Céline Marie Claudette Dion, better known as Céline Dion, has clocked 53 years old.

The singer’s birthday, reports said, was celebrated low-key due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The star has not been seen at public functions in a while.

Recall that last year, the multiple award-winning singer marked her 52nd birthday with a childhood throwback photo of herself.

Born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Québec, a little town 50 kilometres from Montréal, Celine Dion was the 14th child of Thérèse Tanguay and Adhémar Dion.

Reliving her experience, the star had once said that while growing up, the house was jam-packed with children, and her mom even had to lay her littlest one to sleep in a drawer.

On December 17, 1994, Celine married the love of her life, René Angélil, in Notre-Dame Basilica in Montréal.

In February 1996, Celine triumphed at the Victoires de la Musique, the French version of the Grammy Awards, winning the Victoires awards for Song of the Year (Pour que tu m’aimes encore) and Female Vocalist of the Year.

In March of the same year, Celine launched the album Falling Into You. It would go on to become the biggest-selling album of 1996 worldwide.

Hitting #1 in 11 countries, the album went on to win two Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Celine shares three children with her late husband, René Angélil.
