Buddha Boy, also known as Bodhi, is gaining attention with his album “33 Glimpses of the Eternal,” a project that blends hip-hop with reggae, dancehall, electronic music, trip-hop and ambient sounds.
According to Billboard Africa, the independent album has begun showing early momentum, with its track “Lullaby” reaching No. 24 on the UK iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart shortly after the project’s release.
Released through Kamani Records, the 11-track album combines hard-edged rap with softer vocals and atmospheric production while exploring themes including human rights, spirituality, justice and artistic freedom.
Buddha Boy brings global influences
The album features collaborations with artistes from India, Jamaica, Japan, Brazil, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Collaborators on the project include Mahesh Vinayakram, Roe Summerz, Don Husky, Nature Ellis, Triga Finga, Arcanjo Ras, Mocca, Aura Da Prophet and Maze022.
Production support also came from Roe Summerz, Rupert McRae and Clark Gamelin of Remedy Music, while Buddha Boy served as executive producer.
The project reflects the artiste’s experiences across several countries and his attempt to create music that does not fit neatly into one genre.
Album targets wider audience
“33 Glimpses of the Eternal” was released on August 7, with “Lullaby” entering the UK iTunes chart two days later.
Buddha Boy’s approach places conscious rap alongside dreamlike and experimental sounds, giving the project an identity that differs from conventional hip-hop releases.
Attention will now turn to whether the album’s early momentum translates into stronger streaming numbers, radio play and wider international recognition.
