A 47-year-old man, Okereke Iroegbute who lost his leg in a robbery attack after being shot severally has gotten an artificial leg to enable him walk again.
The artificial leg was reportedly donated to him by ObinnaCare Initiative, a humanitarian pet project of Hon. Obinna Kingsley Onwubuaririi, member representing Okigwe/Isiala-Mbano/Onuimo federal constituency, at the National Assembly Abuja.
The father of two who hails from Umuzegem, Ubauhu, Okigwe Local Government Area in Imo State was reportedly attacked at his residence on June 24, 1999. He is the first beneficiary of ObinnaCare Initiative.
Iroegbute said,
“It was a terrible incident that has left me a disable. I was shot severally in my right leg by the robbers in their quest for money. All effort to treat this leg and walk normal was unfruitful; the last remedy was to cut the leg that’s why I have one leg.”
