Nigerian media mogul, Ben Murray-Bruce on Saturday commemorated the first remembrance anniversary of his late wife, Evelyn Murray Bruce who died a year ago.
The Silverbird Group founder penned an emotional tribute on his verified Twitter page with photos in her honour.
“She was faithful, loyal and true. My best friend of 43 years and my wife for 41 years. She was one of life’s greatest inspiration to me.
“Today marks one year since I lost my favourite woman. We miss you, Evelyn Murray-Bruce. The void remains that can never be filled,” he wrote.
Evelyn died on 20 March 2020 at the age of 67 after battling cancer.
“Cancer is real, but it shouldn’t be a death sentence – awareness, and early detection and treatment are key to survival. I miss her so so much. I’m broken,” the ex-Bayelsa East constituency’s senatorial representative said when he announced her demise last year.
She is survived by her husband and children: Jonathan (Irene), Jasmine, Jared (fiancé Susie), Cody, and granddaughter Sophia, as well as her ten siblings among others, according to The Valdosta Daily Times.
