A man has been left injured after he attempted to rescue two children from their abusive mother in Bayelsa State.
According to reports, the incident happened in Iniringi, Yenogoa.
Reports said the man while trying to stop the woman from abusing her children was stoned with a stone by the lady.
The stone narrowly missed the man’s eyeball.

However, the children were eventually rescued by an NGO, DO Foundation, through its Executive Director, Dise Ogbise-Erhisere, who is also the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA Sagbama branch.
It was gathered that the mother of the children, had on several occasions, consistently assaulted her children and the concerned neighbour, who intervened, was injured with a big stone aimed at him by the lady.
The matter was reported to the police but the suspect escaped before their arrival.
The children have since been taken into protective custody
